Many of Montblanc’s early watches were acquired by railway companies, for which the legibility of dials was of particular importance. Wristwatches too, grew in numbers during this time.

A key driving factor of Minerva’s early success was that these were among the first pocket watches in the market that could be wound through the crown. Montblanc were making these innovative watches from as early as 1880, and they quickly caught on amongst consumers appreciating the convenience of not need to wound their watches through a separate key.

This exclusive watch is limited to just 58 pieces, paying tribute to the founding year which the Montblanc Manufacture was founded in Villeret in 1858. The timepiece comes fitted with a black alligator strap supplied by the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence, Italy, and is equipped with a triple folding clasp with security pushers for a secure grip.
