1. What is the Volvo Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge?

A unique competition held exclusively for Malaysian interior design firms as a platform to showcase the best of Malaysian interior design talent.

 

2. Who are the organisers of the Challenge?

A three-way collaboration between Volvo Car Malaysia, online lifestyle publishing house Aurizn, and renowned developer EcoWorld through its new property concept Duduk.

 

Participation

1. Who can and cannot participate?

The 2020 Volvo Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge is open to all interior design firms based in Malaysia and legally registered with the Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM). The challenge is not open to individuals. 

2. How do I participate?

Post up drawings, renders, and actual completed photos of a selected project on your company’s official Facebook / Instagram accounts. Submission must show the project’s living area, bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom. Include a short description of the project not exceeding 100 words, and the following tags and hashtags:

3. What are the documents that are required to be submitted in order to participate?

A screenshot of your post, together with Form 9, Form 24, and Form 49 of your firm must be emailed to [email protected] for verification purposes. We understand the sensitive nature of these documents and pledge to keep them strictly classified.

 

4. I am with a Singaporean Interior Design Firm, am I allowed to participate?

Only Interior Design Firms based in Malaysia and legally registered with the Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) are allowed to participate.

 

5. I am studying Interior Design about to graduate, am I eligible to participate?

The challenge is not open to individuals.

 

6. How many entries can one (1) Interior Design Firm submit?

Participants are welcomed to submit as many entries as they’d like, but each submission is to consist of one (1) project only.  For each firm, a maximum of only one entry can qualify for the Finals Challenge phase.

 

7. When is the last day of submission?

Submission for participation will close on 28 May 2020, 11:59pm. Late submissions will not be considered or accepted.

 

Finalists

1. How many finalists will be chosen?

The twelve (12) best submissions will be selected by the Organisers to qualify for the Finals Challenge phase.

 

2. When will the finalists be announced?

The finalists will be announced on 1 June 2020 online.

 

3. What is the Finals Challenge?

For the Finals Challenge, Finalists are required to design and furnish an actual 1,000 sq ft property within a budget of RM40,000. Further specifics and property layout will be revealed by the Organisers during the Finalists’ briefing

 

4. How do I know if I’m chosen as the finalists?

In addition to the online announcement, the organisers contact finalists to inform them that they have qualified for the Finals Challenge.

 

5. What do I do after I am chosen as one of the finalists?

Be ready to attend a briefing session to take place on 6 June 2020 to receive your brief of the finals challenge. In view of ongoing recommendations for social distancing, it is highly possible that this briefing session may be conducted by video conferencing. Finalists unable to attend this briefing or could not be contacted will be disqualified and replaced by another participant selected at the Organisers’ absolute discretion.

 

6. How long do I have to prepare my Finals Challenge?

Finalists have 20 days to complete their Finals Challenge. Submission will close on 26 June 2020, 11:59pm. Late submissions will not be considered or accepted. Submission specifics will be announced by Organisers during the Finalists’ briefing.

 

Winners

1. How will be the winners be selected?

Based on results of the online vote as well as a scoring system from a panel of judges, the Organisers will select six (6) winners of the 2020 Volvo Aurizn EcoDesign Challenge.

 

2. When will the winners be announced?

Announcement of winners will be on 25 July 2020.

 

3. What are the prizes?

First-, second-, and third-place Winners will be given contracts by EcoWorld to furnish 25 actual property units at a cost of RM40,000 per unit.

The fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-place Winners will be given contracts by EcoWorld to furnish 14 actual property units at a cost of RM40,000 per unit.
