It all began in 2010, when the BR-01 RADAR introduced, for the first time, a way of reading the time inspired by an aviation instrument: radar. Hands and dial merged into a single plane, replaced by concentric discs marked with luminous beams. In 2011, Bell & Ross once again challenged convention with the Red Radar: the crystal was tinted red and the model quickly became one of the Maison's best-sellers. The collection continued to evolve in 2014, before returning in 2021 with the BR-03-92 Red Radar Ceramic, which introduced ceramic to the collection for the first time and featured two stylised aircraft flying across the dial. With the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic, the collection takes another step forward. Whereas previous editions featured either radar beams or aircraft silhouettes, this version brings both elements together for the first time: the aircraft and their luminous trails appear simultaneously on the dial, just as they would on an authentic air surveillance screen. Following the red of control rooms, the green of next-generation radar screens now enriches the collection's colour palette. This continuity is no coincidence. Since 2005 and the creation of the iconic BR-01, Bell & Ross has patiently built its Flight Instruments collection, comprising a dozen exclusive timepieces, each translating the graphic language of an aircraft navigation instrument into watchmaking. The Radar collection is one of its boldest lineages, and the Green Radar Ceramic now opens a new chapter in its story.

Bell & Ross has always maintained close ties with the world of aviation. With this new Green Radar, the Maison goes one step further by bringing three iconic aircraft to life on the dial. The Falcon*, a high-end civilian business jet, indicates the hours. The Rafale*, a multirole fighter aircraft, indicates the minutes. The Neuron*, a stealth combat drone, indicates the seconds. Each aircraft moves on its own independent rotating disc, creating a continuous aerial ballet that replaces traditional hands. This trio was carefully selected: it brings together three generations and three distinct fields of French military and business aviation. By having them fly together across a single dial, Bell & Ross extends its vocation as a watchmaking Maison born from the meeting of aviation and precision watchmaking. This association once again illustrates Bell & Ross's close relationship with the leading names of French aviation. By choosing to depict a business jet, a fighter aircraft and a stealth drone side by side, the Maison pays tribute to the diversity of Dassault Aviation's expertise, from business aviation to the most advanced combat systems.

The time is read through three superimposed, independent discs, each animated by a miniature aircraft. The Falcon completes one revolution of the dial in twelve hours, the Rafale in sixty minutes and the Neuron in sixty seconds. The aircraft silhouettes provide immediate visual reference points. Behind them, a luminous trail evokes the radar trails that these same aircraft would leave on an authentic air surveillance screen, reinforcing the illusion of a full scale monitoring instrument rather than that of a traditional watch. The hour markers and graduations are printed in green beneath the sapphire crystal, which is tinted throughout and treated with an anti-reflective coating. This dual reading system — moving discs on one side and fixed graduations on the other — creates a striking sense of depth and places the Green Radar firmly within the lineage of the control screens that inspired it. The result is a clearly defined two-level display: on the lower level, the three discs and their continuously moving aircraft; on the upper level, the fixed graduation printed beneath the sapphire crystal. Between the two, the wearer's gaze moves like that of an air traffic controller scanning a screen, searching for the next aircraft to identify. This new display complexity represented a significant technical challenge. As with previous Radar models, the discs must be light enough not to affect the movement's power reserve, while remaining sufficiently rigid to prevent any deformation or friction between them. Each component is assembled and adjusted to within a micron, ensuring constant parallelism between the three display levels.

The 41 mm BR-03 case is crafted from microblasted black ceramic, a high-tech material that is smooth to the touch and highly resistant to scratches. The case back is engraved with the three aircraft featured on the dial. It houses the BR-CAL.327 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement offering a 54-hour power reserve. The watch is water-resistant to 100 metres and is worn on a black rubber bracelet, secured by a matching pin buckle. This level of precision echoes the approach that guided the development of the Radar collection's very first discs in 2010: to deliver absolute mechanical reliability behind an ever-evolving visual spectacle. With the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic, Bell & Ross once again demonstrates that the most spectacular innovation can emerge from the encounter between watchmaking precision and a passion for aviation.

For more than fifteen years, the Radar collection has held a unique place in the Bell & Ross universe. It introduced an entirely new way of reading the time, directly inspired by the screens used in aircraft cockpits and air traffic control centres. Following the 2010, 2011, 2014 and 2021 editions, Bell & Ross now presents its fourth iteration: the BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic. For the first time, the Radar display takes over the 41 mm BR-03 case. This new format tightens the scale of the dial and delivers an even more immersive display, recreating with unprecedented realism the luminous sweep of an authentic airborne radar. Green, mysterious and striking, this new creation reinterprets one of the Maison's most emblematic concepts, giving it an entirely new colourway. The BR-03 Green Radar Ceramic will appeal equally to loyal collectors of the Radar collection, design enthusiasts and aviation aficionados looking for something truly distinctive.
