The M34 F8 Date features a traditional design comprising of three centre hands of hour, minute and seconds, a date display at 3 o’clock, and Orient Star’s signature power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock. The new limited-edition black dial model depicts the Perseid meteor shower cascading across the night sky with nanoparticle metal multilayering technology². The gradation and smooth, thick, clear coating symbolise the vast depths of the universe. The nanoparticle metal multilayering technology is a new technique in which ink composed of nanometre-sized ultra-fine metal particles are layer injected several times onto the dial. This technology which is used in electronics, is applied to watchmaking for the first time in the world³, resulting in the creation of extremely delicate, elaborate dials with a sense of depth. In addition, the hairline and mirror finishing on the hands and indices, along with the diamond-cut frame of the date window adds a sharp contrast to the black background, enhancing the dynamic feel of the dial alongside the meteor design.
